Protection From Garden Pests

One of our main concerns about keeping our garden looking nice is having to watch out for garden pests that may be around the area. This pests include insects, birds and other animals that can roam around the area.

While they are all unique creatures and there are some beneficial garden insects, they can still create damage to your garden by eating the plants or digging around the garden. By following these garden protection tips you can successfully keep these common garden pests from bothering your garden.

The first tip for protection from bugs in the garden is to get rid of any spaces in your garden in which insects are living in or are likely to use. Insects can find various different areas in your garden to live in, including near weeds and dead flowers and trees.

By getting rid of these things in your garden protection can be achieved easily because you will have gotten rid of maybe planting areas that are now being used by insects as a habitat. It also  helps to create beauty in your garden, as you will be getting rid of unsightly dead plant life. Insects can also live in soil, so it is important to cultivate your soil every now and then so that insect habitats can be destroyed and therefore less likelihood of garden pests. 

The next part of garden protection is to contain any existing insect habitats. This can be done with dormant spray. Best used in the early months of the year when the plants are less likely to grow, dormant spray helps to make sure that your soil is dormant and is not being impacted by outside forces.

This includes insects that may have made the soil a habitat during the off season. Dormant spray will help to stop the growth of insect colonies and make sure that your soil is clean and ready for planting.

Gophers can eat at the roots of the plants, thus killing them and stopping their growth. By finding where the animal’s tunnels are located in your garden you will be able to create a trap that can stop the gopher. A smoke bomb can be placed into the tunnel to help lure the gopher out of the area.

Garden protection is important, especially with the many different animals in the garden you may have to put up with. Garden protection can be easily achieved by stopping different creatures that may come in. Dormant spray helps to reduce levels of insects in the off season, and smoke bombs can stop gophers. Also, bird feeders can add garden protection and beauty. By following these garden protection tips you will be able to stop destructive creatures from disrupting your garden.
